HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Viet Nam's fastest growing carrier, VietJet, plans to increase the frequency of its flights linking HCM City and Bangkok beginning May 18, the airline announced on April 4.

An extra daily roundtrip will be added to meet the growing demand for low-cost air travel between the two hubs, the airline said, adding that with three roundtrips per day, the international route will have a capacity of 7,560 seats per week.

The new schedule will see VietJet flights depart from Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCM City at 8:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. local time, and flights will depart from Bangkok every day at 11:30 a.m., 1:50 p.m. and 7:55 p.m. local time.

The duration of the journey is about an hour and 30 minutes.

Furthermore, in accordance with its expansion plans, VietJet will welcome more new Airbus jets to its fleet this September. The airline currently operates 28 domestic and international routes, with a fleet of 23 Airbus aircraft. — VNS
