HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The images of Minions, the cartoon characters first seen in the animation movie Despicable Me, will be emblazoned on a brand-new Vietjet Airbus aircraft.

This decision follows a collaborative deal signed between the airline and Universal Pictures (United States) and Illumination Entertainment (France).

This special tie-up with Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment will also feature a host of activities for passengers and promotions for fans during the same week that Minions, the movie, is released in cinemas across Viet Nam.

Meanwhile, some lucky travellers could even meet some ‘minions' on board a Vietjet flight, the airline said in its press release. It said some of these famous loveable characters would appear to greet passengers, present gifts and pose for photos on a special flight.

Fans going to watch Minions in cinemas nationwide should also visit the carrier's microsite www.minions.vietjetair.com every week for a chance to win return tickets from July 10 to July 30, the press release said.

This is not the first time Vietjet has signed an exclusive agreement with famous film studios to "bring" adorable characters from well-loved animations to Viet Nam.

Previously, the airline co-operated with Walt Disney to display the images of the characters from the animation film Planes on the fuselage of one aircraft. Another aircraft features Mickey and Minnie. The airline also sponsored the visit of the cast from Mickey's Magic Show to Viet Nam.

Aircraft in Vietjet's fleet also feature various logos and slogans showcasing Visa, the national tourism symbol of Viet Nam, Airbus' 9,000th aircraft and Vietjet's Skyboss ticket class, as well as several other well-known corporations and brands. — VNS
