Budget carrier Vietjet has received approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) to conduct flights between the capital city of Ha Noi and India’s New Delhi.
The approval was made based on the Agreement on Air Transport between the Vietnamese and Indian Governments, Vietnam News Agency reported.
Earlier at the Viet Nam – India Business Forum in New Delhi in August 2018, Vietjet announced its plan to operate a direct route connecting the countries in order to serve travel demands of the two peoples and to contribute to region’s integration and trade exchange.
According to Vietjet, India – the second most populous country in the world, located in southern Asia, is famous for its diversified culture, religions, cuisine and tourism. Also, the country is well-known for its marvellous nature and grand architectures that are certified as world heritages.
Meanwhile, Viet Nam is a popular tourist destination among international travellers.
Currently, Vietjet operates around 400 flights daily, carrying more than 80 million passengers to date, with 119 routes to destinations across Viet Nam and international destinations including Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, mainland China, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and Cambodia.
The airline has also been listed as one of the world's 50 best airlines for healthy financing and operations by Airfinance Journal in 2018. — VNS
