Viber releases new design and chat platform, which offers users twice the old speed. — VNS Photo

Messaging app Viber has rolled out a new-look interface which it says will enable faster chat flow.

It said its billion registered users can now exchange messages at twice the previous speed and enjoy bigger and brighter chat bubbles and a sharper GIF, photo and video experience.

Viber said it is taking instant messaging to ‘ultra’ real-time level by making it easier than before to keep tabs on all friends and chats with its chat screen facelift.

As a part of its makeover, users are now a part of a Viber community.

Ofir Eyal, vice president, product, at Viber, said: “We wanted to give our users a fresh stunning look that not only looked good but really runs better from the inside out.

“Now no matter where users are located around the world, they will have the fastest service available all without compromising a fun, quirky and visually stunning chat experience.”

It is globally available to all iPhone users and will be rolled out soon for Android. — VNS
