Viatris Vietnam Ltd. Co. opened a new office in Ha Noi on July 14, marking the expansion of its commercial footprint in Viet Nam.

This is the healthcare company’s second office in Viet Nam following the launch of its corporate office in HCM City in 2021. With the launch, the company aims to accelerate the expansion of Vietnamese patient access to medicine and build upon its strong foundation of successful partnerships to improve patient health and support communities.

“Viatris’ presence in Viet Nam is strategic for the company to achieve its mission of empowering people worldwide to live healthier at every stage of life. In addition to seeing good growth potential for the company, we understand that our performance in Viet Bam aligns with our purpose of meeting health needs and ensuring access to quality medicines," said Viatris, Vietnam Country Manager Eunice Cho.

"We work to promote responsible and sustainable operations, and I am extremely confident of future opportunities and the value we expect our company to create for our patients, employees, customers and the whole of Vietnamese society.”

Viatris Vietnam has a broad product portfolio of treatment options for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and infectious diseases across Cardiovascular, Pain, CNS & Men’s Health, including a continued focus on localization efforts through technology transfer of Off-Patent Originator and COVID-19 treatment drugs.

In Viet Nam, the rising burden of NCDs is a significant health concern, accounting for 77 per cent of deaths in the country.

Cardiovascular diseases account for most NCD fatalities with 31 per cent, followed by cancer with 19 per cent, 6 per cent for chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes with 4 per cent and other non-communicable conditions with 18 per cent.

Strengthening its commitment to the Vietnamese community, Viatris Vietnam established partnerships with various stakeholders, including government agencies and leading hospitals, focusing on access to medicine, public awareness and disease screening, and healthcare provider education about NCDs.

Viatris Vietnam also collaborated with the Government and Ministry of Health in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing millions of doses of Remdesivir to meet the urgent treatment needs of Vietnamese patients. — VNS
