The Hà Nội Department of Tourism and Traveloka, Southeast Asia’s leading travel platform in the Mekong Delta province of Cần Thơ, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership.
This agreement signed on Monday, at a promotional conference, organised by the Hà Nội Department of Tourism in Cần Thơ, solidifies their commitment to promoting Hà Nội as a premier travel destination and advancing sustainable tourism development.
The conference aimed to strengthen tourism development cooperation between Hà Nội, Ninh Bình, Kon Tum, and the Mekong Delta provinces, promoting domestic tourism through advertising and product introductions. It was also an opportunity for the localities to showcase their tourism potential and products to participating travel businesses and tourists.
The partnership offers customers compelling travel inspirations to discover Hà Nội and seamless access through various promotional initiatives.
Under the MoU, Traveloka will provide content consultancy for the 'Hà Nội Tourism Plan' through 2025 and actively engage in promotional campaigns to elevate the city's position as a top tourist destination.
Hà Nội, known for its rich history, scenic beauty, traditional craft villages and status as the nation's capital, holds substantial potential for creative tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism combined with shopping tours.
According to Traveloka’s internal data, Hà Nội is among the popular destinations on Traveloka’s platform, with inbound flight ticket sales from overseas to the city doubling in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period last year. Through this partnership, Traveloka aims to enhance its range of products and captivating services to inspire global travelers to explore Hà Nội.
Đặng Hương Giang, director of the Hà Nội Department of Tourism, said: “Collaborating with a travel platform like Traveloka highlights Hà Nội’s commitment to digital transformation in tourism, aiming to establish the city as a leading destination. We anticipate more promotional programmes, increased search interest in Hà Nội and a greater influx of tourists. Conversely, we hope Traveloka will offer travelers modern and convenient experiences when exploring Hà Nội’s tourism offerings.”
