Toyota Motor Vietnam and the Ministiry of Industry and Trade has launched a programme to improve their support for industrial enterprises in Ha Noi on September 7.
Toyota Motor Vietnam said the programme was within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding for the Cooperation Project to support domestic enterprises in supporting industry 2022.
Under the programme, Toyota Vietnam will support stamping, moulding, plastic and rubber enterprises. Toyota's experts will find existing problems and work with enterprises to develop measures and plans to improve and solve problems.
Toyota Vietnam supports four enterprises: Vietnam Industry Trading Investment Joint Stock Company, Nhat Minh Engineering Co, Ltd, 75 Rubber One Member Limited Liability Company, and Kim Sen Industrial Corporation.
The Co-operation Project was launched in 2020 to enhance enterprises' capability thourgh strengthening cooperation between domestic enterprises and automakers.
Deputy Director of Corporate Planning Group, Toyota Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Thuy, said: "Following the direction of the Government, Toyota Vietnam always strives to contribute to the development of Vietnam's auto supporting industry. Through new activities in the project this year, we hope Toyota Vietnam will support enterprises in improving their capability and expand their Vietnamese supplier network, as well as contribute to the development of the Vietnam Automobile Supporting Industry."
Realising that supporting industries in Viet Nam have not been fully developed, in 2018, Toyota Vietnam established a dedicated department to support suppliers, helping them improve work efficiency and product quality while lowering product costs.
So far, Toyota Vietnam has recorded initial promising results. The list of Toyota suppliers has reached 46, including 6 Vietnamese suppliers, and the total number of localised products has reached over 720.— VNS
