HCM CITY (Biz Hub) – Twenty-five high school students will receive two-year vocational training scholarships and daily allowances from the Toyota Vocational Scholarship Programme, launched in HCM City on August 16.
"This is one of our efforts to contribute more to society, especially in education, training and human resource development," said Đoan Thi Yen, vice chairman of Toyota Viet Nam Foundation, and vice president of Toyota Motor Viet Nam, at the launch ceremony.
Toyota Viet Nam Foundation and Toyota Motor Viet Nam, in co-operation with HCM City University of Technology and Education, Lotus Impact Foundation and the Dariu Foundation are organisers of the programme.
Besides standard training, the programme offers English, IT, soft skills and communication skills courses for trainees.
Trainees will receive automotive technical training materials used in the Toyota Technical Education Programme, which has been offered since 2001at six T-TEP centres at five universities and colleges nationwide.
The programme will offer job opportunities to students at Toyota dealers and at Toyota's partners and organising agencies.
Toyota Motor Viet Nam has provided other scholarships, including 1, 879 Toyota Technical Scholarships for outstanding students in the fields of science, technology and environment since 1997. It has also offered 645 scholarships to young musical talents since 2009. — VNS
