Shinhan Bank Vietnam has won three awards from Visa International.

At the 2019 Visa Vietnam Client Forum held late last month in Phu Quoc it was honoured for “Leadership in Payment Volume Growth 2019”, “Leadership in Commercial Payment Volume 2019” and “Leadership in Debit Activation 2019”.

It capped a successful year for the Korean-owned bank’s card services, which saw remarkable growth in terms of both card payment volumes and revenues.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Shin Dong Min, the bank’s CEO, said: “Market leader awards presented by Visa recognise Shinhan Bank's outstanding efforts in creating practical value for users through the card platforms provided by Visa.

“Shinhan Bank's efforts to enhance card payments also contribute to the Government’s efforts to realise the policy of [popularising] non-cash payments.”

The bank has incorporated contactless payment in its card products, and expanded the network with entities accepting contactless payment to simplify the payment process. — VNS
