Shinhan Bank Viet Nam Limited (Shinhan Bank) has been listed among the Top 100 Sustainable Companies in Viet Nam in 2020 in an annual list compiled by the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Viet Nam Business Council for Sustainable Development.
Shin Dong Min, CEO of Shinhan Bank in Viet Nam, said the award is recognition of the bank's relentless efforts to develop its business and contribute to the community during its 27 years in Viet Nam.
The Top 100 Sustainable Companies in Viet Nam programme has been held annually since 2016 under the direction of the Government and has come to be considered one of the measurements for business growth in this era.
The programme is based on the Corporate Sustainability Index, which has 127 indicators in four areas: sustainability, governance, environment, and labour.
In acknowledgement of its governance and sustainability, Shinhan Bank received a BB credit rating (sustainable) for the long term from Standard & Poor’s in January.
In November the bank completed three fundamental pillars under Basel II ahead of the State Bank of Vietnam’s schedule.
It has undertaken various charity activities like donating cash and necessities to people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and historic recent flooding, and to underprivileged children.
It received the award for “Best Company To Work For In Asia” for two consecutive years in 2019 and 2020, from HR Asia magazine. — VNS
