Shim Won Hwan has officially been appointed general director of Samsung Viet Nam, the South Korean giant announced yesterday.
Shim Won Hwan has officially been appointed general director of Samsung Viet Nam, the South Korean giant announced yesterday.
This is will be Shim’s second time to hold this position; h was Samsung Viet Nam’s general director in the 2010-14 period.
Speaking on the first day of his assignment, Shim said he was happy to return to Viet Nam.
“I and Samsung Viet Nam’s management board will strive to contribute to the country’s socio-economic development while maintaining the leading role of Samsung Viet Nam in the world,” he added.
Born in 1959, Shim has more than 33 years’ experience working at the Samsung Group, since his graduation from Kyungpook National University. He has held several important positions at Samsung, especially in human resources and management, and was general director of the Gumi Plant in South Korea since 2015.
In Viet Nam, Shim will be in charge of external relationships, public relations, environment, health and safety, administrative and human resources.
He will replace Han Myoung Sup, who will return to South Korea to take over new responsibilities after spending two and a half years in Viet Nam. — VNS
