HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Local leading retailer Saigon Co.op in collaboration with Vietcombank, BIDV and Dong A Bank on Friday introduced their co-branded debit cards for customers who shop at Co.opmart supermarkets and Co.opXtra hypermarkets.
The new cards integrate the interests of the supermarket's membership card and the debit cards of the three banks. This allows customers to pay for their purchases or withdraw cash from ATMs, transfer money, and pay for bills for electricity, water, telephone, insurance and others.
In addition, cardholders will enjoy several benefits, including discounts on purchases as well as Tet and birthday gifts. Discount programmes designed for co-branded cardholders and preferential services will also be offered.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Nguyen Thi Hanh, general director of Saigon Co.op, said the new cards were expected to bring more benefits to customers and enhance the development of non-cash payments in the domestic market.
The supermarket will co-operate with banks to install nearly 2,000 Points of Sale (POS) that accept the new cards at its Co.opmart and Co.opXtra chains, Hanh said.
To celebrate the launch of the cards, co-branded cardholders who purchase goods at Co.opmart and Co.opXtra plus Thu Duc with bills totalling VND500,000 and above, will receive a VND30,000 voucher.—VNS
