Saigon Co.op has launched a month of promotions for local products at its 800 outlets nationwide.
Dubbed "Vietnamese Goods Star," its biggest promotion of the year will run from August 24 to September 13 at Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co. op Smile, Finelife, and Cheers.
There will be 21 promotional programmes offering discounts of up to 50 per cent on 21,000 products, including a super discount programme on weekends, and others like buy more, get more discount and buy 1, get 1 free.
This year, Saigon Co.op will organise a series of activities to promote Vietnamese goods in stores and online, including a programme that offers customers a chance to win gold when voting for local goods on its Cooponline app, parades in support of domestic goods in various provinces and cities, and mobile sales trips to take Vietnamese goods to remote areas.
It released the music video "Vietnam ơi" online on August 24 to showcase the country's most scenic spots.
Nguyễn Ngọc Thắng, director of Co.opmart’s operations division, said despite the difficult economic situation, Saigon Co.op and its business partners are organising "Vietnamese Goods Star."
“It offers consumers the chance to buy quality Vietnamese products at affordable prices, thereby boosting demand for local products.”
