Saigon Co.op opens store in Long An

HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Saigon Co.op, owner of the Co.opmart, on Saturday opened Co.opmart Ben Luc in Long An Province, the 82nd store in the supermarket chain.

Located on Ben Luc town's National Highway 1A, Co.opmart Ben Luc cost VND75 billion (US$3.36 million) and sells more than 30,000 items, 90 per cent of them Vietnamese high-quality products.

To mark its opening, the new store has launched three promotions – discounts of up to 50 per cent on hundreds of essential goods, attractive gifts and a lucky draw with prizes like a Honda Lead scooter, Samsung refrigerator and washing machine and Media infrared stove.

Earlier, Saigon Co.op established Consumer Co-operative, a franchise of Co.opmart, to serve its members in accordance with Co.opmart regulations.

Co.opmart consumers can contribute capital to become members of the new co-operative and participate in its operations. Initially, it is meant for customers in HCM City. — VNS
