The 'Forests For Good - Vì Bạn Ươm Mầm Một Việt Nam Xanh' programme, first launched in 2023, will continue this year to raise awareness about environmental protection among retail consumers nationwide in June this year.

Sponsored by P&G Việt Nam in collaboration with Central Retail Vietnam and the Gaia Nature Conservation Centre, the programme aims to plant at least another 6,500 trees this year.

In its first year of implementation, over 6,500 trees were planted, enriching the ecosystems of key forests in Xuân Liên, Cà Mau and Đồng Nai Nature Reserves.

Lê Thị Tuyết Mai, Communications Director at P&G Việt Nam, said: “We are committed to sustainable development in Việt Nam and are proud to continue this meaningful project for the second consecutive year. Through this programme, we hope to promote environmental protection and inspire consumers to protect the Earth. We thank our customers for their support and look forward to even greater participation.”

From June 13 to June 26, 2024, for every purchase worth VNĐ399,000 at GO!, Big C, and Top Market supermarkets, with at least VNĐ100,000 spent on P&G products, consumers will contribute one tree to the programme. Additionally, consumers will have the chance to receive a VNĐ50,000 discount voucher through augmented reality interactions at the supermarkets.

Chalermchai Pornsiripiyakool, Vice President of International Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Central Retail, said last year, the ‘Forest For Good' initiative received strong consumer support through purchases of P&G products at Central Retail's supermarkets nationwide. He hopes this year’s programme will gain even more support, expanding tree plantation and contribute to Việt Nam’s sustainable development.

Đỗ Thị Thanh Huyền, Founder and Director of Gaia Nature Conservation Centre, added: “The increasing frequency of natural disasters and extreme weather events highlights the urgent need to combat climate change by planting and restoring forests. This requires the collective effort of individuals and organisations. We appreciate the significant contributions from P&G, Central Retail Việt Nam and consumers nationwide, which are crucial for forest restoration and ecological balance in Việt Nam.” — VNS
