Masan Consumer is providing 10,000 free lunches to needy people in HCM City during a week-long programme.
"Joining hands in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic", being run from April 20 to 26 to help people in difficulty as a result of the pandemic, is a joint effort with the city Association for Protection of Children's Rights and the Centre for Social Work and Vocational Training.
Each person gets lunch along with a water bottle and five coffee packs.
The food is served at 11am every day in districts 3, 7, 8, 10, Tan Phu, Go Vap, Binh Chanh, and Nha Be.
To get the food, people can go to 237 Tran Van Dang Street in District 3, 18B 11N Street in District 7, Long Hoa Pagoda in District 10, 14 Nguyen Van Bao Street in Go Vap, Huynh Van Chinh Apartment Building in Tan Phu, 209 Nguyen Van Tao Street in Nha Be, and Le Minh Xuan Industrial Zone in Binh Chanh.
In District 8, authorities deliver it home.
The company has also gifted 700 water filtration devices to people in eight provinces in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta to deal with the current water shortage caused by drought and saltwater intrusion.
The total cost of the charity programmes is estimated at VND8 billion (US$340,000). — VNS
