HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Manulife Cambodia has become the principal sponsor of the world Angkor Wat International Half Marathon from now through 2019.

"The Angkor Wat International Half Marathon encourages families and communities to participate together and live a healthy lifestyle," Robert Elliott, chief executive officer and general manager of Manulife Cambodia, said.

"Health and wellness are a major focus for Manulife globally, so we are extremely proud to sponsor this event which supports such important causes."

This year is the 20th anniversary of the 21-kilometre race.

The race takes place at the UNESCO world heritage site, which was ranked the number one landmark in the world last month in Trip Advisor's 2015 Travelers' Choice Awards.

Funds raised through the event will be used to support among others the Kantha Bopha Children's Hospital, the Angkor Hospital for Children, and the Red Cross in Cambodia. — VNS
