The Ha Noi-based Tien Thien Tea Development and Investment JSC has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two foreign partners - An Shim Tea Company from Latvia and Anna Ye Tea Company from the US.

The MOU was sealed during a trip of 10 tea foreign companies which came to Viet Nam last week to study the domestic tea market as well as the standard tea material area, especially Shan Tuyet tea, in the country.

Under the MOU, An Shim Tea Co and Anna Ye Tea Co will support the Vietnamese firm to expand its markets and team up in implementing trade promotion programmes to help Viet Nam's Shan Tuyet tea products penetrate the EU and US markets.

In her speech at the signing ceremony in Lao Cai Province on Saturday, Nguyen Thi Anh Hong, Vice President of the Vietnam Tea Association said Viet Nam is one of six countries possessing the rare Shan Tuyet tea variety in the world. These tea trees which are hundreds of years old, have been growing without human impact or intervention, creating extremely rare tea products.

"However, this rare tea of Viet Nam is unfamiliar to many people. We are very happy to bring this product to the world market, typically the US and the EU," she said.

As part of its development strategy in the 2023-25 period, Tien Thien Tea Development and Investment JSC will continue investing in all areas from caring and conserving raw materials to manufacturing, product consumption and human resource training.

At the same time, it will make great efforts to positioning and advertising the Vietnamese Shan Tuyet tea brand in the world market. — VNS
