Local company to produce made-in-Viet Nam wind power system

Local solar power manufacturer SolarBK Holdings Group (SolarBK) and DeBruce companies from the US have agreed technology-transfer negotiations on SkyStream wind power production in Viet Nam.

SolarBK confirmed to Viet Nam News that it took 18 months to complete the technology transfer deal, and the production of the small wind power systems would begin from the fourth quarter of this year.

It said the SkyStream wind power system can be used for developing renewable energy in islands and coastal areas that are not yet connected to the national grid.

Following the deal, XZERES Corporation, an affiliate of DeBruce, which is a global clean energy technology company that provides an array of quality wind power solutions, will transfer technology to Energy joint-stock company (a member of SolarBK), and the production will be set at IREX’s high-tech renewable-energy complex in Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

SolarBK said the factory plans to produce 1,000 products in the first year before increasing to 3,000 products in the second year for domestic and export markets.

It said the product will consist of 90 per cent locally made materials at a competitive price in the regional market.

SolarBK, a leading solar power manufacturer in Viet Nam, had launched a wind-solar renewable energy system project on the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands of Viet Nam, and renewable energy-powered desalination system project on Song Tu Tay Island from 2016.

It has been exporting made-in-Viet Nam solar panels and equipment to the US, the Netherlands, UK, Singapore, Turkey, Tunisia, Japan, Malaysia, China, Hungary and Poland since 2017.

The company has been developing solar-powered water heaters, wind power turbines, solar power-driven sea water filter systems and renewable use solutions. — VNS
