E-commerce company Lazada Logistics Vietnam on Thursday officially inaugurated a commodity sorting centre called Lazada Logistics Park at Song Than 1 Industrial Zone in the southern province of Binh Duong.

Covering an area of 20,000 sq.m, the Lazada Logistics Park, whose capacity is 1 million parcels per day, is the biggest and most modern logistic centre in the province.

According to Lazada, its new sorting centre is equipped with modern technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and 99 per cent of the sorting lines are automated.

The other modern technologies used at the centre include a telescopic conveyor system, a singulator, dim weight scanners, a wheel sort system with o-belt modular structures, a cross-belt sorting system, small parcel cross-belt sorting, barcode reader software, auto-outbound function and mobile telescopic.

Thanks to the modern and automatic technologies, the Lazada Logistics Park can help improve operational efficiency and reduce labour costs. With an up to 99 per cent automated sorting system, parcels can be quickly and accurately handled and selected, thereby shortening order processing time as well as cutting down delivery time.

"This new sorting center is not only a breakthrough in the development process of Lazada Logistics, but also marks a milestone in the development of Lazada Logistics in the e-commerce logistics industry in Viet Nam in general. With the new sorting center, we aim to bring our customers the best online shopping experience, with the fastest and most reliable delivery. We believe that with these efforts, Lazada Logistics will actively contribute to building a sustainable e-commerce logistics ecosystem, setting new standards and further promoting the overall development of the industry,” said Vu Duc Thinh, CLO, Lazada Vietnam.

Over the past decade, Lazada has invested strongly in building a modern and sustainable logistics infrastructure. In Viet Nam, Lazada Logistics owns a system of sorting centers, warehouses for storing and handling goods and a network of post offices, which total 150,000sq.m in size.

Up to now, Lazada has built many different sorting centres in HCM City and Ha Noi, along with a network of hundreds of post offices spread across provinces and cities, ensuring goods are handled according to top standards with timely delivery.

In addition, Lazada Logistics also owns thousands of drop-off points on a large scale through co-operation with partners; hundreds of collection points and a smart locker system. With a solid infrastructure foundation, Lazada Logistics is rising to become one of the leading shipping companies that can deliver goods smoothly and quickly to millions of customers nationwide. — VNS
