Global cybersecurity and digital privacy company Kaspersky introduced its new flagship product line ‘Kaspersky Next’ combining endpoint protection with the transparency and speed of EDR (endpoint detection and response) and the visibility and powerful tools of XDR (extended detection and response) in Việt Nam on May 7.
It is a new line of cybersecurity products that goes beyond the classic EPP (endpoint protection platform), and brings together EDR and XDR for corporate customers.
EDR and XDR help companies withstand more prevalent, evasive and sophisticated attacks, providing businesses with total visibility, control, rapid response, and proactive threat hunting.
Speaking at the launch, Adrian Hia, Kaspersky’s managing director for Asia Pacific, said amid the constantly evolving threat landscape, it is vital for companies to have a comprehensive cybersecurity solution they could trust and rely on for effective protection.
According to Enterprise Strategy Group's XDR and SOC (security operations centre) Modernisation Report, businesses are still struggling to find information security tools that can detect and investigate advanced threats in time.
Hia said: "With the debut of Kaspersky Next, we are streamlining EDR and XDR complexities, catering to businesses and organisations across Việt Nam, regardless of scale. Our aim is clear: furnish unmatched protection guided by unrivaled expertise to every client, whether they're cybersecurity newcomers or boast their own SOC teams. Ultimately, we aspire to empower Vietnamese companies to forge robust, tailored information security systems that perfectly align with their cybersecurity requirements."
Ngô Tấn Vũ Khanh, enterprise account manager for Vietnam at Kaspersky, said there were 17,100,000 cases of local infections where hackers tried to compromise users’ computers via infecting files and removable media in 2023.
In addition, organisations in Việt Nam experienced 59,837 ransomwares attacks.
Financial phishing, with 36,130 incidents, remains a prevalent threat to businesses and individuals, he said.
The malicious actors persuade users to grant them access to valuable information related to banking, payment systems and e-commerce shops, he said.
"In just the first quarter of 2024, the frequency of cyberattacks has increased with extremely sophisticated methods. These attacks have targeted organisations in the financial and stock industries along with several recent incidents of financial losses from individual bank accounts. Despite organisation's quick responses to the problems, this serves as a warning that a solution that can provide a dependable and cost-effective information security system is essentially needed.
“As a result, we tailored Kaspersky Next for organisations of all sizes with different protection requirements, from those with the absence of IT personnel to those with small teams of cybersecurity professionals and major companies with highly specialised cybersecurity teams." — VNS
