HDBank received two awards from international card organisation Visa for credit payment volume growth and payment volume growth in 2022.

The awards underscore HDBank's strengths in the card business, in which it has developed many smart payment solutions using modern technologies and offers unique incentives to millions of customers to help boost cashless payment in accordance with the Government and State Bank of Vietnam's policies.

HDBank recorded robust growth in all business segments in the third quarter, especially in the retail, small and medium-sized enterprises and consumer finance segments.

Its card and services segments also grew strongly.

HDBank has launched many multi-utility card products to meet the diverse payment needs of customers, and is now issuing a wide range of Visa cards such as HDBank Visa Classic and Visa Gold and co-branded cards such as HDBank Vietjet Classic and HDBank Vietjet Platinum.

The bank’s digital transformation strategy and development have also delivered outstanding results. The number of customers using digital banking services increased by over 50 per cent from the same period last year, with the number of new users in the first nine months nearly tripling year-on-year.

Both the number and value of transactions on digital channels doubled.

HDBank was honoured recently at the 2022 Vietnam Digital Transformation Awards in the ‘Typical Digital Products, Solutions, and Technology’ category.

With its large ecosystem consisting of many leading brands, HDBank has made a mark in the market by frequently rolling out unique incentive programmes and priority utilities for card users.

For instance, HDBank Vietjet Platinum credit cardholders will get global travel insurance cover of up to VND11 billion (US$441,760), cashback of up to 25 per cent when buying Vietjet air tickets on the carrier’s website or app for the first time until December 31, and 5 per cent on subsequent occasions, unlimited cashback of 0.3 per cent on other shopping transactions, zero interest instalments, and priority check-in at Vietjet's counters.

Customers who register for the card in 2022 will have the annual fee waived for the first year.

Besides, card holders will get discounts of up to 50 per cent on travel, resorts, healthcare, shopping, and others throughout the year.

Its focus on investing in the most advanced technologies in the world in all its operations enabled HDBank to quickly offer the credit card opening feature online on its website and app.

Besides, with the zero per cent interest instalment payment conversion feature on its mobile app for transactions worth at least VND3 million, HDBank international credit card holders can comfortably shop now and pay later without worrying about interest rates.

Visa is the best known international card organization in Viet Nam and has the highest market share.

Its awards are prestigious and help assess and recognise the important contributions made by various banks in the development of Visa card services in a market. — VNS
