FUNiX, a Vietnamese IT training company, is making efforts to strengthen business partnerships and recruitment connections in Japan to open up more job opportunities for students in the Japanese market.

FUNiX has had a visit to meet and strengthen collaboration on recruitment and training with businesses in four Japanese cities - Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. These include software companies, recruitment agencies, and Japanese language schools.

According to a representative from FUNiX, Japan is among the most attractive markets for Vietnamese software exporters. The company aims to establish partnerships with Japanese businesses and expand career opportunities for FUNiX students in Japan.

With a highly developed IT sector, Japan is facing a significant shortage of tech talent. This number is expected to reach approximately 790,000 by 2030, according to the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

This shortage and Japan’s increasingly aging population are the main reasons why many Japanese businesses have to seek alternative labour supply in other countries, including Viet Nam. There are numerous job opportunities for Vietnamese developers in Japan as their skills and perseverance are highly sought-after qualities by Japanese recruiters.

During the visit, FUNiX impressed their Japanese partners with a unique training model and outstanding achievements during their first seven years of business. Several Japanese companies expressed appreciation for FUNiX’s training model and education philosophy and willingness to become a recruitment and training partner in Japan.

In October 2022, FUNiX signed a partnership agreement on training - recruitment with Trusting Vietnam, a subsidiary of Trusting Japan, an IT company with a long history in Osaka. Trusting Vietnam commits to recruiting FUNiX graduates, sending their IT experts to work as FUNiX mentors, and participating in the development of training curricula to match business demand.

“The partnership with FUNiX is an opportunity for Trusting Japan to tap into the supply of young Vietnamese talents more effectively,” said Shimada Daigaku, CEO of Trusting Japan.

“We hope we will soon be able to welcome skilled, talented FUNiX students into our company,” he added.

In parallel with the partnership agreement, FUNiX students also had the opportunity to visit Japanese companies, understand their recruitment needs, and receive study and career advice from both Japanese and Vietnamese IT experts.

According to Hoang Viet Thang, Director of FUNiX Manpower Supply Center, the Japanese market is full of both opportunities and challenges. Japanese businesses do not only look for talent but also have strict requirements on candidates’ attitudes. However, FUNiX’s training courses are able to provide graduates who could meet these difficult expectations.

Currently, FUNiX students in courses such as the Japanese Enterprise Certificate can receive financial support up to VND60 million, support in preparation for the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering Certification) certification exam, and an IT certificate recognised in Japan and more than 10 Asian countries. Students need to commit to work for FUNiX’s business partners in Japan for at least a year, with a minimum salary of 20 man/month (equivalent to VND43 million a month).

"FUNiX's partnership with Japanese businesses is to enhance FUNiX's position and increase job opportunities for students in Japan," he added. — VNS
