VPBank SMBC Finance Company Limited (FE Credit) has named Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet acting CEO, replacing Kalidas Ghose from May 4.
Kalidas Ghose officially resigned from the position of CEO from April 30 and holds the position of senior advisor to the Members' Council of FE Credit, providing advice on the company’s strategic planning and development of the consumer finance market in the coming time.
Before joining FE Credit, Nguyet was a member of the executive board of Vietnam Prosperity Bank (VPBank) and head of the Operations Division.
Working at VPBank since 2014, she has held several important positions and gained many outstanding achievements.
Prior to that, she had 17 years of working experience at ANZ Bank, holding managerial positions in several fields such as finance, operational risk management, project management, operations and internal audit at the bank.
With extensive experience and expertise in the banking and finance sector, along with her professional capacity and leadership skills, Nguyet is expected to accompany and lead FE Credit to overcome challenges, operate effectively, and accomplish business targets during its restructuring process to achieve sustainable development.
Established 12 years ago, FE Credit is a leading consumer finance company in Viet Nam. It has served more than 15 million working-class customers in the country with over 16 million loans.
FE Credit has also become a member of Japan's leading financial group Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc.(SMBC) after the sale of a 49 per cent stake in 2021. The deal is so far the largest one in the consumer finance sector in Viet Nam. — VNS
