A batch of boiler pressure components using waste to energy (WtE) technology has been shipped to a power plant at Fushimi, Kyoto, Japan after nine months of production at Doosan Heavy Industries Viet Nam (Doosan Vina) in the central province of Quang Ngai.

It’s the first shipment of boiler pressure components under the Fushimi Kankyo Hozen project signed between Doosan Vina and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Environmental & Chemical Engineering Company in 2019.

Doosan Vina said it will supply 228 tonnes of boiler pressure equipment and welding nickel alloy used in a WtE power plant in Fushimi under the project.

The first shipment, which left Dung Quat Port on Thursday, will provide equipment components to help burn garbage and convert thermal energy into electricity in Japan.

Director of the Doosan Vina’s boiler shop, Park Jae Bong, said: “We encountered many difficulties during fabrication, assembly, and inspection for this project because of the customer’s high requirements and this is the first time Doosan Vina produced the WtE technology boiler.”

“However, with unceasing efforts and creativity as well as strict compliance with all production processes, we have successfully produced the order.”

Park added that five mock-up tests had been made under the evaluation from the Japanese customer before starting the project last August

Doosan Vina said the project is planned to be completed and handed over to the customer by the end of this month.

The company is also manufacturing other projects for domestic and overseas sales such as Heurtey Heater Radiant Section, Jawa number 9 and 10, Van Phong 1, Song Hau 1, Palu 3, Gemalink and others.

Despite the fourth wave of COVID-19 striking the country, Doosan said it has exported 10,000 tonnes of local made cargo of industrial equipment and components since early this year.

Last year, Doosan Vina also exported equipment to the Sodegaura Biomass Power Plant – the largest capacity biomass firing plant in Chiba, Japan, and steel structures for the installation of a conveyor system at Onahama Port in Fukushima, Japan. — VNS
