Doosan Enerbility Việt Nam (Doosan Vina) has launched a new charity programme to provide free vocational training for needy young people, local youth union members, and returnees as part of its community social responsibility (CSR) plans.
Doosan Vina said the vocational training programme aims to help young people and ex-servicemen secure a more stable and brighter future, whilst contributing to ensuring local social security.
It is expected that the first vocational training programme will open for 12 people between the ages of 18 and 30 from poor and underprivileged families living in Bình Thuận Commune of Bình Sơn District.
Doosan Vina has agreed to sponsor the entire cost of about VNĐ300 million and will conduct training in the first quarter of 2024, covering vocational training courses in welding, flux-cored arc welding, and fabrication of steel structures.
"Vocational training is a new charity programme that Doosan Vina is aiming for. This programme holds great significance not only for beneficiaries as it provides them with skills and career opportunities, but also for the Government because it contributes to ensuring local social security," head of Doosan Vina Training Department Nguyễn Tấn Sửu said.
Sửu said: "Since being licensed for vocational training on 1 April 2021, Doosan Vina Training Centre has trained and certified more than 30 students both inside and outside the province. These students have now been recruited at Doosan Vina, Thaco Chu Lai, PTSC, and mechanical companies.”
In addition to two major annual health and education programmes, Doosan Vina also conducts a series of other charity programmes throughout the year. These include maintenance and repair of desalination plants on An Bình Islet, repairing schools, supporting the construction of new and upgraded housing for employees and residents, and donating fire extinguishers to communes.
Doosan Vina, which began its business operations in 2009, exports boilers for thermal power plants, port cranes, desalination plants, fired heaters, modules, and steel structures for petrochemical refineries to 35 countries worldwide. — VNS
