DA NANG (Biz Hub) — Da Nang International Airport today welcomes its five millionth passenger who arrived from Ha Noi via VietJet flight VJ511.
VietJet presented the passenger, Tran Minh Thinh from Ong Thep 190 Co, with free flights for the whole year to mark the occasion. Two adjacent passengers also received a roundtrip ticket to Singapore. They are Yasuda Takenori, a tourist from Japan, and Nguyen Thi Thuy Ly, an employee of Fubon Viet Nam.
Da Nang International Airport, which has been in operation since December 2011, is the third-largest airport in Viet Nam. The airport has seen a 16 per cent increase in passenger numbers year-on-year in 2014. Meanwhile, the number of international passengers travelling to the airport reached 900,000 people, which indicated a 53 per cent annual increase for this year.
VietJet Business Development Director Desmond Lin shared that the carrier has committed to adding more flights to Da Nang to meet the growing travel demand. In addition, this commitment will help enhance the trade and tourism relations between Da Nang and other provinces.
With a new modern fleet, VietJet has flown nearly 10 million passengers in 60,000 flights across a network of 28 domestic and international destinations in countries and territories such as Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore and South Korea. Taiwan is also one of the international destinations served by the airline.
The airline is planning to further expand its flight network across the Asia Pacific region, offering more flight opportunities to travellers at the best fares. — VNS
