Gamuda Land Vietnam joined hands with Heart Beat Vietnam Fund to organise a charity run in Yen So Park, Ha Noi, on Sunday to raise funds for Vietnamese children with congenital heart diseases.
With the participation of 11,000 people, “the Run for the Heart 2017” raised VND3.3 billion (nearly US$150,000) to help disadvantaged children undergo heart operations so that they can grow up healthy, Gamuda Land Vietnam said in its statement.
Startied in 2013, the charity run has attracted thousands of participants and received support and contributions from hundreds of sponsors. After four years, the run has raised VND7.9 billion ($350,000), helping 338 kids.
With the goal of bringing care to more children with congenial heart defects, the event aims to improve people’s awareness about the importance of physical activities to reduce the risk of heart disease, along with helping children born with heart disease. - VNS
