Businesses bring Tet cheer to poor

Central Group Viet Nam and Big C supermarket, Unilever Viet Nam and the Red Cross Society are giving 3,600 Tết gifts worth over VND800 million (US$35,400) to poor families in 20 provinces and cities.

The families live in places like HCM City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Can Tho, Da Lat, Khanh Hoa, Da Nang, Hue, Nghe An, Ha Noi, and Bac Giang where Big C has a presence.

The gifts are each worth VND220,000 and consist of rice, cooking oil, soya sauce, fish sauce, seasoning, cosmetics and others.

For the first time Big C also donated bus tickets to 5,000 poor workers for returning to their hometown for Tet.

Confectioner Bibica Corporation is gifting more than 5,500 gifts to poor households and children living in border and remote areas and to disadvantaged children in HCM City, Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc, and Ha Noi. — VNS
