The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has granted the Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) – a global certificate of safe operation management – to budget airline, Jetstar Pacific.
The airline said it had spent four months preparing for to strict standards and control on the updated safety operation system by IOSA.
General director of Jetstar Pacific, Nguyen Quoc Phuong said the IOSA helped build trust in co-operation with international air transport organisations as well as among customers and passengers.
The IOSA is evaluated every two-year period by IATA with a comprehensive check on high standards for safe operation.
Currently, Jetstar Pacific operates the Safety Management System (SMS) approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of Viet Nam (CAAV) and IATA and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
The low-cost carrier has been recognised as the first airline to apply the online submission of flight plans at 16 airports in Viet Nam by CAAV.
Pilots can use iPads from the cabin to receive data from the airline’s flight management centre and send flight plans to the airport, saving valuable time under the strict regulations of ICAO and the Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network (AFTN).
Jetstar Pacific, a member of the Jetstar Group, has grown from five aircraft in 2013 to 12 now and flies on 32 domestic and international routes.
The two major shareholders of the airline, Vietnam Airlines and the Qantas Group, expect the fleet to grow to 30 aircrafts by 2021. — VNS
