The promotion, effective from September 6, will be applied on more than 7,000 products in 15 categories of essential goods such as milk, spices, sugar, cooking oil, water fish sauce, confectionery, coffee, vegetable and more.
‘Price is always low’ is one of the major programmes of Big C which aims to help stabilise prices, especially for essential products which will likely rise towards the end of the year.
After three months of implementation since June 2018, sales in many categories have grown at more than 15 per cent, according to Big C.
Since taking over Big C from Casino Group in April 2016, Central Group Vietnam stopped wholesales and has focused on retailing and serving the end-customers. It has increased domestic products, especially 50 per cent of fresh products is from local sourcing.
“The up-to-date results have been very satisfactory. Customers and sales revenue of the whole Big C have been at double-digit growth,” said Philippe Broianigo, Group CEO of Big C and Central Group Vietnam. He noted 96 per cent of its sales revenue was from domestic products.
Big C will open a new concept store by year’s end and continue expanding its distribution network in 2019 onwards, Philippe said. Last month, he said Central Group will invest US$500 million in Viet Nam in the next five years.
Big C has 35 supermarkets in 20 provinces and cities nationwide. – VNS
