Autodesk and the Institute of Construction Economics under the Ministry of Construction (MoC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking the next important milestone in the collaboration relationship between the two parties since the first signing of the MoU in 2017.

Accordingly, Autodesk, a global leader in design and making technology for architects, builders, engineers, designers, manufacturers, 3D artists, and production teams, will play the role of consulting and supporting the institute in promoting and adopting Building Information Modeling (BIM), as well as digital transformation in the construction industry in Việt Nam.

This MoU is the next strategic step, as the 2017 MOU between Autodesk and MoC contributed significantly to the decision on approving the BIM application Roadmap in the construction sector, issued by the Prime Minister in March 2023. According to this signing, the two parties reached an agreement, forming a large scope of cooperation, helping accelerate the application of BIM Roadmap.

This noteworthy collaboration entails Autodesk’s support of MoC over a three-year period. The partnership will focus on implementing and initiating activities that can help in increasing BIM application and measure the effectiveness of the BIM programme project implementation.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Lê Văn Cự, director of the Institute of Construction Economics said: “Autodesk is one of the enterprises that supported and helped the Ministry of Construction in raising awareness toward BIM; disseminating the experiences of some countries successfully applying BIM, and providing documents and instructions, equipment and software to serve BIM applications. We hope that through this agreement, Autodesk will continue to support in approaching BIM in order to maximise the effectiveness of its application in Việt Nam.”

Nicolas Mangon, Vice President, AEC Industry Autodesk, said: “This MoU is an important step in promoting the application of BIM in the construction industry in Việt Nam. BIM is an important technology that can help contractors, consultants, and investors improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase high-quality work.” — VNS
