Amway Viet Nam and the Viet Nam Competition and Consumer Protection Authority (VCCA) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding to implement activities to communicate on the protection of interests of consumers in 2020-21.

The two sides will focus on communicating and educating about the law on the protection of consumers, the responsibility of business organisations and individuals towards their consumers and the responsibilities of State management agencies and social organisations in protecting consumers' interests.

In addition, the two sides will co-ordinate to communicate about electronic tools and means managed and operated by the VCCA to peruse databases on the protection of consumers' interests.

The general director of Amway Viet Nam Huynh Thien Trieu said the activities would be an effective solution to communicate and enforce legal documents on consumer rights to give consumers the initiative and self-protection.

In addition, the activities also showed the responsibilities and obligations of enterprises in business, contributing to creating a healthy business environment, and promoting consumption in a more sustainable way.

Trinh Anh Tuan, VCCA deputy director, said that for any economy, protecting the interests of consumers was very important to business activities and sustainable economic development.

Besides, consumer demands and tastes had a huge impact on the market's leading and operating process, he added. — VNS
