More than 1,500 golfers have registered to participate in the FLC Golf Championship 2018, scheduled to take place at the FLC Sam Son Golf Links.

The number of registered golfers greatly surpassed forecast figures, prompting the organising board to extend the competition to create opportunities for golfers.

Accordingly, the championship, which was scheduled to begin on January 1 in the central province of Thanh Hoa, will run for an extra day and night due to the surge in registered golfers.

With the modern light system installed at all 18 holes at the FLC Sam Son Golf Links, golfers can play competitively at night.

The organising board said the FLC Golf Championship 2018 and many other competitions had seen a higher number of golfers than expected.

The award value this year will increase again, for a total value of VND100 billion (US$4.4 million), including a cup, a condotel at FLC Sam Son Golf Link, automobiles, a golf membership and vouchers to all of FLC’s resort complexes nationwide. This golf tournament offered the largest award value to date.

“After six years, the annual FLC Golf Championship has become one of the most prestigious tournaments,” the organising board said.

The 200ha FLC Sam Son Golf Links is located in the FLC Sam Son Complex and has a total investment of VND12 trillion.

The golf course was chosen for many other important competitions as well, such as the Faros Golf Tournament, AMD Golf Challenge 2017 and Danko Golf Championship 2017.

Golfers at the tournament will enjoy free accommodation at the complex. — VNS
