The South Korean CJ Group this week granted scholarships to 100 underprivileged pupils who achieved good results in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.

The donation, worth VND400 million (nearly US$18,000), is part of the CJ Group’s annual scholarship programme, demonstrating its corporate responsibility to the community and society, the company said in its statement.

Over five years, the CJ Group has granted more than 500 scholarships to poor pupils and students in the province, aimed at helping these students cover their tuition and living expenses.

Next year, the group plans to give 200 scholarships to students in many other localities where it is doing business.

CJ Group entered the domestic market in 1998, with the establishment of its representative office in HCM City. To date, the group has expanded its operation in the country, specialising in 17 areas, including food, animal feed production, animal husbandry, logistics and entertainment. — VNS
