Yamaha Vietnam recalls 35,850 motorbikes

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Yamaha Vietnam is recalling 35,850 Jupiter and Sirius motorbikes to correct a defect in the rear brake light, the Vietnam Register announced on June 18.

It reported that this defect caused the rear brake light to remain dark when the drivers stepped on the brake to reduce speed, causing other drivers to be slow in their reaction.

The models of Jupiter and Sirius made from March 31 to May 22, 2014, including Sirius FI-1FC3, Sirius FI-1FC4 and Jupiter Gravita FI-1PB2, Jupiter FI-1PB3, will be checked and replaced by other rear brake light systems.

The replacement, to be carried out at all Yamaha agents nationwide from June 19 to December 18, 2014, will be free if such cases are detected. — VNS
