Director of the National Electronic Authentication Centre (NEAC) Tô Thị Thu Hương emphasised the growing importance of digital signatures, noting their role as a fundamental component of Việt Nam’s digital infrastructure, alongside telecommunications and the Internet. She highlighted that digital signatures contribute significantly to the country’s digital transformation and economic development.

As of mid-December 2024, over 13.3 million digital certificates had been issued nationwide. Public digital certificates made up more than 12.45 million, with government-specialised certificates contributing nearly 0.88 million. Among these, individual digital certificates surpassed 6.38 million, while organisational certificates reached 6.94 million.

The market has witnessed a robust increase in active digital certificates, estimated at 6.21 million by the year’s end, up 75.25 per cent compared to the previous year. In particular, personal digital signatures have seen remarkable growth, from 304,500 in 2022, to over 3.4 million in 2024.

NEAC also highlighted advancements in service quality among CAs, noting improvements in transparency, security and the application of advanced technologies. Users have reported enhanced experiences, with a wider range of services and competitive pricing. — VNS
