HA NOI (Biz Hub) – The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) will support the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in implementing an information technology application for managing and building e-governance during 2015 to 2020.

This is part of a cooperative agreement signed by the two sides on April 20 in Ha Noi.

The cooperation will be carried out in four fields: building IT and telecom infrastructure; developing and implementing IT application for e-governance building and management; building information security solutions for the network of the ministry, and improving IT human resources.

Branches of VNPT in provinces and its member companies will cooperate closely with agencies of the ministry and provincial departments of natural resources and environment to carry out activities outlined in the agreement.

In addition to enhancing the quality of services, VNPT will provide transmission services, digital signature verification, data storage and IT services to support the management of the ministry.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Minister of Information and Communications, Nguyen Bac Son, said the agreement would contribute to the enhancement of IT and telecom applications on activities of governmental agencies and people.

He also said this had helped boost the building and implementation of the national data system for land and natural resources managed by the ministry. - VNS
