VNPT launches its second made-in-VN smartphone


VNPT Technology, a member company of the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group, released its second made-in-Vietnam smartphone VIVAS Lotus S2 for low-income customers on November 25 in Ha Noi.

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — VNPT Technology, a member company of the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group, released its second made-in-Vietnam smartphone VIVAS Lotus S2 for low-income customers on November 25 in Ha Noi.

The smartphone offers new applications, developed by VNPT Technology on the VNPT Appstore, such as TVOD for watching TV online and VIVAS Cloud for unlimited online storage. VIVAS Lotus S2 is available in five colours, namely turquoise, pink and yellow, besides black and white.

Workers at the VNPT Technology factory in Ha Noi, which currently manufactures 3,000 smartphones per day.
The VIVAS Lotus S2 Eco models are available in black and white. They have a 5.0MP front camera and a 2.0MP back camera.

VNPT Technology has a factory each in Ha Noi and the southern province of Binh Duong, and plans to open its third factory in Ha Noi again next year. The factory in Ha Noi currently has a capacity of producing 3,000 smartphones per day. The company aims to sell 50,000 S2 smartphones per month.

The company's Deputy General Director To Manh Cuong said that the new smartphones have been designed, developed and produced at a VNPT Technology factory, with the parts provided by reputed firms in the world.

"The software and hardware were fully developed by VNPT Technology, and so, they can put an end to cyber-security risks and the breakdowns experienced by users of other smartphones," he added.

Earlier, on July 26, the firm launched its first smartphone, VIVAS Lotus S1, in Ha Noi. — VNS
