The Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Team (VNCERT) has issued a warning of attacks by malicious code, which the organisation believe is targeting banks and the country’s vital infrastructure networks.
VNCERT said there had been a series of organised attacks targeting a number of banks and the country’s key infrastructures. Hackers were likely to have carefully studied their victims and employed advanced tactics to hijack their systems to steal information.
Nguyen Khac Lich, VNCERT’s vice director, also urged the Government, the President, the National Assembly, the telecommunications sector and the airlines and transport industries to take extra precautions against organised attacks.
Detailed instructions on how to guard against possible attacks can be found on VNCERT’s website at www.vncert.gov.vn — VNS
