Doosan Heavy Industries Viet Nam (Doosan Vina) has shipped eight Rubber Tired Gantry Cranes (RTGC) to Saudi Global Ports (SGP) in Saudi Arabia.

Manufactured over an eight-month period in the Dung Quat Economic Zone, the eight cranes bring the total of Made-in-Vietnam cargo container cranes to 65 so far.

The cranes are expected to arrive in Dammam City – a key gateway to the Arabian Gulf and a major economic and commercial hub of the Saudi Global Port system – after three weeks at sea.

Doosan Vina, a company of the South Korean Doosan Group, invested US$300 million in the 110-ha complex in the Dung Quat Economic Zone in Binh Son District of central Quang Ngai Province in 2006, producing boilers, desalination plants and cranes.

In 2016, the 2,500-worker company recorded exports of US$200 million and in 2017 that is expected to reach $300 million. — VNS
