Vietnam Airlines took delivery of its 10th Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner at Noi Bai International Airport on Friday.
The airline got its first 787 Dreamliner in July 2015 and has nine more on order. It operates them on the domestic route to HCM City and international routes to and from London, Frankfurt, Tokyo and Beijing. In 2017, 787s will also be introduced on Vietnam Airlines services to and from Sydney and Melbourne.
“Vietnam Airlines is proud to welcome our 10th Boeing 787 Dreamliner to its fleet, only 16 months after we took delivery of the first of these state-of-the-art aircraft,” Phan Xuan Duc, executive vice president of Vietnam Airlines, said.
“The 787 is one of the keys to our fleet expansion plans, and plays a vital role in enabling us to offer customers four-star service quality and establish Vietnam Airlines as one of the leading carriers in Asia,” he said.
To date, Vietnam Airlines’ fleet of Boeing 787s has operated over 7,600 flights with 35,500 flight hours, and has flown approximately 1.79 million passengers. – VNS
