Vinmec, Seoul National University Hospital cooperate on preventive medicine

Vinmec Health System and Seoul National University Hospital signed a cooperation agreement on May 5 to establish a general health examination centre in Viet Nam.

The 5-year agreement aims to establish and operate a Korean standard high-class general health examination centre at Vinmec Times City International General Hospital in Ha Noi.

The programme is not only a general health examination programme but also a comprehensive and in-depth health assessment model, targeting early screening of risk of diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and diseases of elderly patients, thereby building personalised health management programmes for each customer.

“At Vinmec, we set a goal to become an academic medical system with an outstanding clinical management system, a model of continuous and comprehensive health management, best serving the community. The partnership with the Seoul National University Hospital is one of our ongoing efforts to realise our international goal," said Vice President and General Director of Vingroup Nguyen Viet Quang at the signing ceremony.

With 130 years of experience in training, research, management and administration in the medical field, Seoul National University Institute (SNUH) will accompany Vinmec in implementing high-standard health care management programmes.

Under the framework of the cooperation, general health and screening programmes will be organised and managed by a team of experienced professors and doctors of Gangnam General Health Center (under SNUH) - the leading preventive medicine facility in Korea.

SNUH's team of experts will directly participate in the operation of the Advanced General Health Examination Centre at Vinmec Times City. They will also organise training, transfer and apply technical processes, algorithms and diagnosis logic of SNUH for early screening of risks for customers.

Meanwhile, Vinmec will make the most of its advantages of modern facilities, experienced staff, and achievements in gene technology research and application, receiving technology transfers and operation from SNUH.

The Korean standard general health examination centre will help each customer have the earliest access to a comprehensive health assessment programme and timely forecast disease risks to proactively prevent and design personalised health management plans for patients.

“With a team of excellent lecturers, experts, and an advanced information management system, we believe that this cooperation will help Vinmec's Advanced General Health Examination Centre take a leap forward and become the best choice for customers in Viet Nam," said Kim Yon Su, President and General Director of Seoul National University Hospital.

"In addition, Korea and Viet Nam will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year, we hope that this cooperation will contribute to improving the health of Vietnamese and Korean people in Viet Nam, marking an important milestone in strengthening medical cooperation between the two countries."

With the motto "Prevention is better than cure", the application of the most advanced technology in health care will increase initiative and efficiency, contribute to reducing the burden on the Vietnamese health system, improve health and improve people's health and quality of life.

The two sides consider this as a foundation for contributing to the process of deepening cooperation in more fields between the two health systems in the future. — VNS
