Vietnamobile Telecommunications JSC (Vietnamobile) has announced it is reducing its subscribers’ phone numbers from 11 digits to 10 by changing two of the prefixes from September 15.

According to Decision 798 of the Ministry of Information and Communications, all service providers have to effect this change between September 15 and November 14 this year.

The prefix 0186 will change to 056 while 0188 will change to 058. The remaining digits in phone numbers will remain unchanged.

Vietnamobile will allow calling on both the old and new numbers for 60 days (until November 14, 2018).

After that, until July 1 next year, a recorded message will instruct customers to dial the new numbers.

Vietnamobile will provide full support to its subscribers during the transition period.

It will automatically change the current prefixes to the new ones, and customers do not have to take any action to effect this change.

The new 10-digit numbers will support all services such as 3G, 4G and VAS normally.

Besides, subscribers can take part in all monthly promotions offered by Vietnamobile without any difficulty.

All balances and available packages and services will be retained after the numbers change.

Vietnamobile will send a message to inform all customers before making the switch from 11 digits to 10.

Vietnamobile Telecommunications JSC is the only Vietnamese telecoms company to attract foreign investment, and it provides high-speed nation-wide mobile services under the Vietnamobile brand.
