KULA LUMPUR - Vietnamese students made a stunning impact at the Huawei ICT Competition 2024-25 Asia-Pacific regional round, securing three top prizes and earning a direct ticket to the global finals in China this May.

Competing against 36 teams, Việt Nam’s three teams of nine students excelled in the computing, cloud and network tracks, demonstrating exceptional technical expertise and problem-solving skills.

The competition, organised by Huawei and the ASEAN Foundation, aims to foster ICT talent by providing students with hands-on experience in advanced technologies like Cloud, 5G and AI.

This year’s regional round featured over 110 students from across Asia-Pacific, who competed in rigorous theory and practical exams.

Việt Nam’s stellar performance saw them clinch the Excellence Award in the Computing Track, a Second Prize in the Cloud Track, and a Third Prize in the Network Track. Their success reflects the country’s growing strength in ICT education and innovation.

Macky Zhang, General Director of Huawei Vietnam said: “This achievement is a testament to the outstanding talent of the young generation of Việt Nam.

"We hope that through this competition, students will have deeper access to the most advanced technologies such as 5G, AI, Cloud, Network, thereby applying knowledge into practice to promote the development of the technology industry in Việt Nam.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đặng Hoài Bắc, Director of the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, expressed pride in the students’ accomplishments, highlighting the Academy’s dedication to innovation and digital transformation.
