The Vietnamese team had an excellent performance and achieved third place in the Network Track, beating more than 160 teams consisting of over 470 contestants from 49 different countries and regions at the global final of the Huawei ICT competition 2023-24.

It was an even bigger field of competitors than in previous years.

The Vietnamese team consists of two students: Đặng Phương Khôi Nguyên (from the FPT University Đà Nẵng) and Nguyễn Đắc Phúc (from the University of Economics - Technology for Industries).

After winning through the National and Asia-Pacific Regional rounds, the team continued to showcase their talent in what was the second time the Vietnamese team has participated in the games.

Vũ Kiệm Văn, vice president and general secretary of the Việt Nam Digital Communication Association (VDCA), said the competition was a bonus for the technical students and may help them in their careers.

He said: “Huawei ICT competition is a useful academic platform for ICT students. We hope that Huawei will continue to maintain and enhance the quality of the competition, providing high-quality training programmes and learning materials, not only for participants but also for long-term collaboration programmes in the future.”

Since its launch in 2015, the competition has helped ICT students to enhance their knowledge and practical skills, while also increasing their ability to innovate by using new technologies and platforms. — VNS
