HÀ NỘI — Vietnam Beverage Company Limited, in collaboration with Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, C asean, and the Sirivadhanabhakdi Foundation, donated essential supplies worth nearly VNĐ300 million to 15 schools in Hà Tĩnh, Quảng Bình and Quảng Ngãi provinces of Việt Nam.
Continuing Vietnam Beverage Company Limited's (Vietnam Beverage) support activities in the central region, the early 2025 donation programme has delivered practical gifts including rice, cooking oil, white sugar, fish sauce, soy sauce, and sterilised milk, aimed at improving meals for students in localities that frequently face natural disasters.
Speaking at the handover ceremony at Hưng Trạch Elementary School No. 4, Bố Trạch District, Quảng Bình Province, Nguyễn Hải Sơn, representative of Vietnam Beverage, said: "We always wish to accompany schools in disadvantaged areas, especially those regularly affected by natural disasters. Although these gifts are not of great material value, they demonstrate our concern and long-term commitment to supporting education and sustainable community development."
Vietnam Beverage will continue to collaborate with teachers at this school through the "Training on Enhancing Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Capability for Teachers" programme.
Organised by C asean Vietnam in coordination with the provincial Red Cross Society, the programme provides essential knowledge and skills for teachers on disaster prevention.
Implemented in Hà Tĩnh (2023) and Quảng Ngãi (2024), the programme has trained more than 30 teachers on risk assessment, emergency response, and integrating disaster risk content to help build disaster and climate-change-resilient schools.
From 2021 to 2024, Vietnam Beverage has supported schools in central Việt Nam with a total budget of nearly VNĐ3 billion, including the renovation of 10 schools; providing Tết gifts and learning supplies; disaster response equipment such as first aid kits, life jackets, stretchers; and installation of water filters at 15 schools, and ensuring a safe learning environment for school communities.
In 2021, TCC Group – Vietnam Beverage's parent company – also contributed US$1 million to the COVID-19 Prevention Fund at the Vietnamese Government's request through the Sirivadhanabhakdi Foundation.
These programmes are co-organised by C asean – an organisation established in Thailand with a representative office in Hà Nội, which connects the ASEAN community, especially in sustainable development, education, arts, and culture.
In the future, Vietnam Beverage and its partners are committed to continuing their support for sustainable development programmes in Việt Nam, focusing on two main areas: education and mitigating the impact of natural disasters in localities with difficult conditions. — VNS
