Vietnam Airlines to launch new int'l routes


Vietnam Airlines will begin direct flights linking HCM City and Bali (Indonesia) as well as Phuket (Thailand) from October 27, 2019 in order to serve increasing demand for flights on these routes.

Vietnam Airlines will begin direct flights linking HCM City and Bali (Indonesia) as well as Phuket (Thailand) from October 27, 2019 in order to serve increasing demand for flights on these routes.

Fom October 27 to the end of March 2020, the airline will operate five flights per week due to operational restrictions at Denpasar Airport in Bali. Later, it will provide flights seven times weekly.

This is the second route launched by Vietnam Airlines that connects Viet Nam and Indonesia, following services between HCM City – Jakarta since December 2012 with a frequency of seven flights per week.

Meanwhile, Vietnam Airlines’ third route connecting Viet Nam and Thailand - HCM City and Phuket - will be run three times weekly. This route’s frequency will be increased to daily flights starting March 2020.

In another move, the airline said it will also resume operations of Da Nang - Bangkok daily service starting October 27.

“The new routes demonstrate Vietnam Airlines’ commitment in continually expanding our vast network and adding a new level of convenience and flexibility to passengers’ journeys," Le Hong Ha, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines said.

"Apart from offering new, exciting non-stop services, these routes also facilitate international travellers from Europe, Japan, South Korea and many other parts of the world to easily access famous destinations like Bali and Phuket via Vietnam Airlines’ connecting flights," he said.

In order to celebrate these new routes, the carrier is launching a promotional programme offering up to 50 per cent discount on return tickets.

From September 20 to November 10, 2019, passengers can purchase round-trip tickets from HCM City to Phuket starting from just US$19 and from HCM City to Bali starting from only $69. It is also giving away round-trip tickets on Da Nang - Bangkok with fares starting from $15 from September 20 to November 30, 2019. — VNS
