Vietnam Airlines Corporation on Friday opened a new route between the southern city of Can Tho and the central city of Da Nang at Can Tho International Airport.

The Can Tho – Da Nang route will be operated with a frequency of seven flights per week with the Airbus A321 aircraft with 4-star quality service. Flights depart from Can Tho at 7:15 and Da Nang at 18:30 every day.

Passengers can buy tickets for Can Tho – Da Nang for only VND299,000 (US$12.8) one way for economy class (excluding taxes, fees, surcharges). The tickets are on sale until February 3, while the departure time is from February 13 to March 31.

Dang Minh Viet, head of Vietnam Airlines branch in Can Tho, said the opening of the Can Tho – Da Nang route will strengthen the connection between the Mekong Delta and central provinces, meeting the increasing demand of tourism and trade. The Can Tho – Da Nang route brings new choices for customers from Da Nang to Con Dao when combined with the current Can Tho - Con Dao route, which is offered by Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO), a member of Vietnam Airlines.

Can Tho leaders hope that in addition to opening the Can Tho – Da Nang route, Vietnam Airlines will soon open new routes connecting Can Tho with the north-eastern, north-central regions, Central Highlands and international airports.

The Can Tho – Da Nang route is Vietnam Airlines’ fourth domestic flight operating from Can Tho International Airport, after Can Tho – Ha Noi, Can Tho - Phu Quoc and Can Tho - Con Dao. Previously, Vietjet Air was the first unit to offer this route since 2014. — VNS
