The aircraft, coded VN-A664, is the eleventh to be delivered as part of the milestone agreement between Vietjet and Airbus for acquiring and leasing 100 aircraft.
With its advanced design resulting in less fuel costs and CO2 emissions, the new aircraft is expected to boost the carrier's efficiency while protecting the environment.
Also, in a move to welcome its fleet's newest member, Vietjet launched its greatest promotion in 2015, entitled "Fly into an amazing fairy tale with Vietjet" with 1.5 million promotional tickets costing from VND68,000 (just over US$3).
Additionally, many surprise gifts will be given to passengers flying with Vietjet from December 1 to February 15, 2016. Further, passengers will be selected to participate in a lucky draw for daily and weekly awards, as well as for the special prize of a luxury Dragon City apartment in the city, worth up to VND2 billion ($89,000).
"With this addition to its fleet, Vietjet is now operating 30 new and modern A320s and A321s, helping the new-age airline to further develop its network in Viet Nam and across the Asia-Pacific region", said Luu Duc Khanh, Vietjet's managing director.
Previously, the airline announced that it has mandated Avation PLC, a London-listed aircraft leasing company, to deliver four new Airbus A321s over the coming 12 months under a sale-leaseback transaction, with a fifth aircraft on option.
These five aircraft are part of Vietjet's Airbus order book. The aircraft are new and due to be delivered from Airbus in May, July, August, September and November 2016. — VNS
